Whoo hoo! I found a new yarn shop close to home! Well . . . I guess it's not a new shop, but it moved and now it's in my neck of the island. It's called U'i Mau A Mau - Tracy's Yarns. I guess it used to be at the Dole Cannery but they moved to this space in October. I just found them today as I was walking around waiting for another shop to open. I saw, "Yarn" on a sign and thought, "Yarn?" I've never seen this before. So I went in to check it out. This is such a small island. My neighbor Dana was in there (I had just seen her a Fabric Mart a couple days before). We said our hellos and I looked at the person she was talking with and said, "You look familiar." It was June. A woman I took tole painting classes with about 13 years ago! She a friend of the owner, Tracy, and helps her out at the shop. I ended up buying several skeins of yarn! They have this coolio yarn winder there. If you buy skeins from them, you can use this winder and wind your skeins into balls - FREE! I love it! June said they are bringing in wool soon. It's dangerously close to home. Yikes!
Update: I should have put the location of the store in this post so here it is: It's located on Hekaha St (between Cutter Ford and the Goodwill on Kamehameha Hwy.) It's in the row of turquoise colored buildings where Stamps and Memories, Kawaii Hawaii, Beadmania, the Quilt Hut, Crazy Canine and other shops are. It's on the side with Beadmania and Crazy Canine. You'll see a sign that says, "Yarns."
If you need more specific instructions let me know. Thanks!
One more request for specific location - where in Aiea? I'm surprised I haven't seen it!

I was wondering where that shop went too. They had lots of stuff, but the location was a little strange. Where are they now?
