Granny Squares

I've been wanting to make granny squares for a while now.  Actually, I think I've been thinking about it off and on for a couple of years.  I finally decided to try it.  I actually really like making them!  I have this idea that I'm going to make a blanket for Tasia for college.  I'm using a soft wool so it should be warm.  I don't know if I can make that many granny squares though.  It might end up being a scarf!  Lol!

but I believe I changed it a little on the corners of the border. I made them so long ago though that I can't really remember.

What pattern did you use for these granny squares and how big/little are they? I have been thinking about doing this for my daughter too!
